In the context of enhancing medical and health education and elevating it towards specialization, Yarmouk University College, Al-Hadi University, Bilad Al-Rafidain University, and Al-Rasheed University College, with the support of Mr. Al-Hajj Salman Mohammed Al-Luhaibi, convened an important scientific symposium entitled “Towards Specialized Medical and Health Education,” focusing on vital fields including dentistry, pharmacy, radiology, and nursing.
The symposium witnessed the attendance of a number of prominent academic figures, including university presidents, deans, department heads, the head of the Pharmacists Syndicate, representatives of several syndicates, representatives of the Ministry of Health, heads of relevant deans’ committees, specialized professors, investors, academics, media professionals, and a number of students.
The symposium extended across four main axes, beginning with the presentation of an important research paper on specialized education in the proposed medical fields, followed by a second axis dedicated to discussing this paper by experts and specialists in a dialogue session. Attendees were also given the opportunity to interact and actively participate during the third axis, in which the door was opened for questions and fruitful scientific discussions. The symposium concluded with the fourth axis, which was devoted to presenting the final recommendations that would contribute to the development of specialized medical and health education.
This symposium came as a pioneering step towards enhancing the quality of education in medical specialties, by combining academic expertise and discussing modern methods that can elevate the level of medical education in Iraq, thereby contributing to the preparation of more efficient and qualified health personnel to serve the community.
