The Student Activities Division, in collaboration with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the college, organized a voluntary awareness campaign for female staff and students.
The aim of the workshop was to highlight the importance of early detection of cancer in women, especially breast cancer, as early detection contributes to recovery from the disease. It included the distribution of awareness posters and explaining the importance of early detection to avoid the disease, control it if discovered early, and recover from it, God willing.
The campaign concluded with advice for breast cancer prevention. To avoid breast cancer, it is recommended to follow a healthy lifestyle that includes a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables, regular exercise, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting the consumption of alcohol and processed foods. In addition, breastfeeding and some periodic examinations such as mammograms can play an important preventive role.
The campaign achieved the third goal (Good Health and Well-being) of the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals.
As part of the global Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Pink October, open days for awareness and early detection of breast cancer are being held at the level of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department.
This initiative aims to promote a culture of prevention and early diagnosis, which plays a significant role in increasing recovery rates and maintaining women’s health.
