The University Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Human Rights Division, organized an awareness campaign titled:
‘An Awareness Tour on the Dangers of Violent Extremism among College Students’
This initiative aims to enhance students’ awareness of the dangers of violent extremism and its intellectual, social, and psychological impacts, educate them about its negative repercussions on individuals and society, and foster a sense of responsibility among youth to protect themselves and their peers from being drawn into extremist ideologies.
The campaign also seeks to provide students with accurate scientific information on prevention methods, critical thinking approaches, mechanisms for seeking help when facing attempts of intellectual polarization, and to instill values of tolerance, moderation, and respect for diversity, while promoting positive behaviors within the university environment.
This initiative supports the establishment of a safe university environment that promotes awareness and national belonging, and encourages student initiatives that contribute to spreading a culture of dialogue and combating deviant intellectual phenomena.
