in terms of its causes and risk factors, in addition to the potential complications if it is not controlled. The lecture also highlighted treatment approaches, which include: lifestyle changes such as reducing salt intake and exercising, and conventional drug therapies (ACE inhibitors, ARBs, and others), as well as regular follow-up and blood pressure measurement.
The lecture also addressed the latest therapeutic developments, most notably the drug Zilebesiran, a modern treatment based on RNA interference technology, which works by inhibiting the production of the angiotensinogen protein in the liver, contributing to lowering blood pressure for extended periods after limited doses. The lecturer also discussed the importance of this drug as a promising option for improving patients’ adherence to treatment, especially in cases where it is difficult to comply with daily medications.
The lecture also saw active engagement from students through questions and scientific discussions, reflecting their interest in keeping up with the latest developments in the pharmaceutical field.
